Anyone that is working in the promotion department says that he is the most important part of successes. Anyone else that is working in the distribution department says that purchasing is reached by sales forces. Whereas, customer service says that his role is important in the customer maintaining. At least, all of them say that they are marketers. So, what is marketing? Is marketing a product development, promoting activity, or selling activity? What is more important between product, promotion, and sales?

Needs, Wants, and Demands
All of us need to satisfy necessities. We have to satisfy both physical and emotional needs. Physical needs are able to be satisfied by tangible products, while emotional needs are according to the intangible product values. Emotional needs drive people’s wants. In order to satisfy needs and wants, peoples are bordered by their demands. Demands are broken down to the different levels of hierarchy.
Marketing is a process accessing specific demands. Then, strategy is a mechanism that controls all company activities. Strategy is developed to accessing one or more people’s demands. Strategy’s role is like a driver. It drives all company’s elements to the single target focused. Product development, sales activity, branding activity, or human resource is just an element.
