Bad product performance is often caused by the gap between target market’s perceive values and values that is offered. That is very dangerous. The gap will reduce selling fast. The gap may be occurred because customer’s perceive values is too high to be satisfied, or company strength is not strong enough to develop fitted features. Are the problems only laid on the two reasons? No, those are not. The reasons above are only symptoms. The main problems are both incorrectly market targeting and lack of strength measurement.
How to choose target market correctly can be read in another next review. Now, we will be focus on the measuring and maximizing strength.

You have to filter the strength first, and then measure how far the strength will be working. Any thing can not be stated as a strength if your competitor also competent inside. You have to find completely different thing that can support company to develop unique features. Incorrectly strength statement will allow your product to be looked as same as competitor’s product. What will be happen now? Customer will compare yours and theirs only from the price. The products comparison would be generic.
The next step is maximizing the strength. Although the company has found correctly strength, the company often blunders in second step. The strength must be maximizing according to the target market perceive values. The most company concern on what they can, they don’t think about really customer’s want and demands.
